1. Goal
Factchequeado will select 10 partner organizations to receive a USD $850 fund to organize an in-person community event before August 31, 2026.
Events may address any topic relevant to their community — such as immigration, health, education, civic engagement, culture, the environment, digital security, or financial well-being — as long as they include a space to introduce and promote Fact-DesafIA, Factchequeado’s free Spanish-language artificial intelligence course available through WhatsApp.
We seek to support trusted organizations that already work directly with Latino communities and want to create spaces for conversation, learning, and participation around the changes artificial intelligence is bringing to everyday life.
2. Who Can Apply?
Organizations that are part of Factchequeado’s partner network are eligible to apply, including:
Organizations may collaborate with other local institutions to organize the event. Examples include libraries, schools or educational institutions; museums or other cultural centers; organizations working with immigrant communities; or other nonprofit organizations.
3. What Types of Activities Can Be Proposed?
Formats are flexible and may include, among others:
workshops;
community conversations;
panels;
educational events;
community fairs;
cultural gatherings;
activities for youth and/or families;
spaces focused on media literacy, technology, or digital citizenship.
The event does not need to focus exclusively on artificial intelligence (AI). However, it must include a moment to introduce, demonstrate, or activate Fact-DesafIA with attendees. The Factchequeado team will help design the final event program and will be present to ensure sufficient time is dedicated to the AI literacy component and that learning objectives are met.
4. What Will Selected Organizations Receive?
Each organization will receive:
a USD $850 fund;
Fact-DesafIA materials and resources;
promotional materials;
basic support from Factchequeado for event program design and the AI learning component.
Funds may be used for expenses related to the event, including food, materials, transportation, promotion, venue rental, interpretation, connectivity, or other operational costs.
5. Commitments of Selected Organizations
Organizations must:
hold the in-person event before August 31, 2026;
include a Fact-DesafIA presentation or activation;
create a participatory space for questions and conversation;
document the activity through photos, videos, or testimonials;
submit a brief post-event report, including the number of people who used Fact-DesafIA live during the event.
6. How Will Proposals Be Selected?
Factchequeado will seek a diverse cohort of organizations and geographic representation across the states where they operate.
Special consideration will be given to proposals that demonstrate:
clarity about the experience they want to organize;
outreach and audience engagement capacity;
potential for local impact;
creative and accessible integration of Fact-DesafIA;
participation from audiences with less access to technology training or digital literacy opportunities.
The largest events will not necessarily be selected; priority will be given to those with the greatest potential to generate meaningful conversations and community learning.
7. How to Apply
Interested organizations must complete the application form.
Factchequeado may request additional information or schedule a brief conversation with some organizations before the final selection, if deemed necessary.
