Factchequeado, Chequeado, and La Silla Vacía investigated a media network with a presence in the United States and Latin America that serves as a vehicle for political narratives from the U.S. and Latin American right, including election-related disinformation, hate speech against migrants, and smear campaigns targeting political opponents.
“La Derecha Diario: Its Network in Latin America and Its Connections to MAGA” is a six-part investigation examining the regional growth of this network, its political and business ties, and the right-wing content it distributes across 11 countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, the United States, Honduras, Israel, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay.
One of the central figures behind this expansion is Spanish businessman Javier Negre, owner of La Derecha Diario and host of The Right News Show, a Spanish-language program broadcast from the United States by the conservative outlet Real America’s Voice. Allies of the president, such as Steve Bannon and Jack Posobiec, host their own programs on the outlet, which describes itself as a media organization “for the Hispanic community that supports truth, freedom, and the American spirit.”
The investigation shows how the expansion of this media network across Latin America converges with the MAGA (Make America Great Again) media and political ecosystem in the United States. The Right News Show began airing in November 2025, just days after Negre took part in a White House press briefing where then-Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt invited him to ask the first question. Negre was later appointed president of programming for Real America’s Voice’s Spanish-language channel, RAV Español. The outlet’s programming is also distributed through platforms such as Truth+, owned by Trump Media.
The launch of The Right News Show also comes at a time when the Donald Trump administration has publicly stated its intention to strengthen U.S. influence in Latin America and the Caribbean and support right-wing governments, parties, and movements in the region that align with its principles and strategy.
Factchequeado and La Silla Vacía analyzed videos published between January and mid-September 2026 and found that the most frequently repeated narrative on The Right News Show concerns Mexico: the unsupported claim that Morena governs the country in collusion with drug cartels appeared 27 times across 20 different videos.
This was followed by two narratives favorable to political actors in the region aligned with Trump: that U.S. pressure will lead to the collapse of the Cuban government, and that the reforms of Argentine President Javier Milei represent a historic economic transformation.
The Right News Show has also spread, among other claims, the false theory of fraud in the 2020 U.S. presidential election and a claim previously debunked by Factchequeado that an alleged 13,000 immigrants convicted of murder had remained out of custody during the Joe Biden administration.
