Factchequeado presents Fact-DesafIA, a new interactive course on WhatsApp designed to help the Spanish-speaking community better understand how artificial intelligence (AI) works and how to use it to their advantage, in an informed and safe way.
Fact-DesafIA builds on the success of our first hit, Fact-Desafío, the interactive game Factchequeado created to help people learn to identify misleading information while navigating social media and the internet and better navigate the chaos of the digital information ecosystem. In this new edition, the focus is on AI, a technology increasingly present in everyday life and about which there is still little accessible information in Spanish.
The course requires no prior knowledge and is designed so that anyone—of any age—can take it. Through short, dynamic challenges sent via WhatsApp, participants learn in a clear and engaging way about various key aspects of AI use.
Fact-DesafIA has two levels: a basic level and an advanced level. Throughout these challenges, participants will learn what artificial intelligence is, how to identify images or videos created with AI, how to avoid scams, how to protect their privacy when using digital tools, what artificial intelligence applications exist, and how they handle user data. It also includes practical exercises to learn how to write effective prompts and make better use of these technologies to get the most out of them. Those who complete the second level will have the option to send us a video showcasing what they’ve learned in the course and enter a drawing for a $100 prize. We want to democratize the use of AI and help more Spanish speakers understand its benefits and risks.

The goal is to help people understand and use artificial intelligence with greater confidence and discernment, in a context where these tools—lacking sufficient transparency—are becoming increasingly integrated into social media, the workplace, and everyday life.

Throughout March, April, and May 2026, Factchequeado, in partnership with media outlets and allied organizations, will host events in different states to conduct the course live and receive feedback from the community.
The initiative is part of a project that Factchequeado is developing with the support of the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation.
