In a context where migration misinformation is widespread and policy changes happen without prior notice, Factchequeado presents ChatMigrante — a free chatbot that combines human expertise and artificial intelligence (AI), designed to provide accurate, real-time information in Spanish on immigration topics for Latinos in the United States.
Latino communities in the U.S. face multiple obstacles when seeking immigration information, including the lack of Spanish-language resources, sudden policy changes, and a rise in misinformation and scams that increase migrants’ vulnerability.
In response to this reality, ChatMigrante emerges as a reliable and accessible solution to reduce uncertainty and provide verified answers in one place.

ChatMigrante is built on a robust architecture that includes:
A bot platform to design and manage the chatbot’s conversational flow,
A knowledge database containing Factchequeado articles and other documents curated by our editorial team to support the answers,
And an analytics platform that allows real-time monitoring and optimization of the chatbot.
The chatbot uses a Large Language Model (LLM) — a generative AI language model capable of analyzing and producing text based on previously trained patterns. However, since immigration laws and policies can change frequently, especially during the Trump administration, this language model is enhanced with curated content by the Factchequeado team to ensure responses are based exclusively on verified information and current information.
