Factchequeado is collaborating with IJNet to develop a toolkit to enhance election coverage in Spanish and Portuguese for both large and small media outlets. The goal is to improve audience engagement around elections and politics, rebuild trust, and provide community-focused, solutions-oriented coverage to help citizens stay better informed.
This resource, developed with the support of the IJNet team and Chequeado’s LatamChequea network, will include information, tools, and best practices for impactful Spanish and Portuguese election reporting. It will also incorporate experiences from Chequeado (Argentina) and Maldita (Spain)—co-founders of Factchequeado—drawing on lessons learned during Factchequeado’s live midterm election coverage in 2022.
The toolkit will be available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese on IJNet’s website and social networks, as well as on Factchequeado’s chatbot and platforms.
