The Centro Integral de la Mujer Madre Tierra, in collaboration with Factchequeado, has been selected as one of the beneficiaries of the 2024 Community Voices Fund, awarded by the Independence Public Media Foundation (IPMF). This program has distributed $800,000 among 33 organizations and projects working to document, share, and preserve community stories with the aim of promoting social justice, strengthening local information networks, and amplifying the voices of historically marginalized communities.

In our case, a grant of $30,000 will support the initiative "Verified Voices: Combating Misinformation in the Latino Community of Philadelphia," which aims to produce multimedia content in Spanish to counter misinformation affecting Spanish-speaking communities in Philadelphia. This content will be disseminated through community radio stations and social media, promoting access to verified and relevant information.

This support gives us the opportunity to collaborate with IPMF and other organizations dedicated to creating a positive impact in their communities, reinforcing our determination to empower Hispanics with accurate and accessible information while promoting informed dialogue.

“At Factchequeado, we are thrilled about this support because it is our first project funded alongside a partner from our network, marking a milestone in our collaboration capacity and strengthening our mission to combat misinformation at the local level while promoting access to verified information for those who need it most,” said Laura Zommer, our co-founder and CEO.
